The Mystery of The Solar Wind

This is a truly gripping futuristic story of action and adventure on the high… and low seas. As a kid I read things like, Treasure Island and other pirate stories, yet though I loved them, I’m never read a sea/pirate adventure since. The Mystery of The Solar Wind was recommended to me by a friend while is was on offer for free. I picked it up out of curiosity more than anything else… I’m so glad I did. This is a far cry from the pirate adventures I read as a kid.

It starts out with three very young musicians running away from the Unicate which is some kind of a dictating conglomerate overtaking the world. The Donegal Troubles as the musicians are called offer their services in exchange for refuge aboard The Solar Wind not knowing they are pirates and that The Solar Wind and its captain are the most wanted on the Unicate’s list. Catching The Donegal Troubles aboard would simply be a bonus.

With a well-balanced mixture of superb writing style, mystery, gypsy magic, high stakes risks, narrow escapes, strong well-developed characters, (I absolutely love Federi’s character.) and a most intriguingly complex storyline. I can’t understand why anyone would rate this less than five stars.

  2. I know you like buying books, but there are a lot of books in the series and Lyz has put Smash codes up for Assassin and Freedom Fighter here:

The Assassin is very much Federi so you should enjoy it. Either way, I’m pleased you enjoyed Solar Wind. Fantastic imagination I thought.

OK so I gave it four on grounds that it had too many errors – for me. The story, writing style, originality are all five plus. But I did give Lyz some feedback and she was re-editing it as I recall.

I’m waiting for her next two books with anticipation.

    • I’ll check them out, but with Diamond season over the horizen, it’s doubtful I’ll get to any more than I already have listed on goodreads for quite a while.

Sounds great, yes fantastic character, Federi… the most mysterious and strongly built one in my opinion. Excellent imagination… you know this gives a big mark-up with me, along with originality and all that. I can almost forgive some gram errors when it comes to story par excellence, as long as they are not poking me in the face every few minutes and distracting my read… I hate it when my flow gets disrupted, especially if I’m really in there and the real world has taken a nap.

I wasn’t thinking of you when I mentioned about the five-stars. I know you well enough… I figured you’d have good enough reason even if I didn’t spot it, or chose to ignore it.

      Sounds good! πŸ™‚
